Learning about clouds and precipitation

This week we learned about the water cycle and we showed how rain drops get to heavy for the cloud and begin to drop as precitation.
Some were anxious to try this at home. We filled a jar 3/4 full of water, then topped the water with shaving cream. Next mix food coloring with a small amount of water and drop little drops into the shaving cream cloud until it begins to drip down out of the clouds.  They were very excited to see this happening!

Halloween day

Halloween themed math centers kept us in the spirit today. As well as writing a monster story or description of our monster. Ended the day with our Harvest party.  Thank you to all who donated or came to our party. We had lots of food and fun.

Visit to the Fire Station

We had a great visit to the Fire Station on Monday! Thank you to all the firefighters including Maddie's dad, Jesse, who taught us about fire safety and showed us around the fire house upstairs. Colby also taught us about fire safety, and Chris, Brooke and Shannon showed us the fire trucks and dressed me up in the entire fire suit, air mask and all!  Enjoy the slideshow below.

Independent time during Reading Workshop

We are practicing reading independently from our book bag and on RAZ-Kids in preparation for Reading Workshop.

These pictures were from last week but the posts to my blog have not been going through successfully so I am trying again.
